My advice is BE PREPARED! It is my understanding that most homeschooling legal challenges come when a child is taken out of the public school mid-term. I highly recommend that you join the HOME SCHOOL LEGAL DEFENSE ASSOCIATION in this situation before you notify your school. Then send a letter of intent to homeschool with a description of your curriculum to the appropriate authority at the school. Include the date you will be withdrawing your child from school, and it is good to give a couple weeks notice.

Please post any additional questions you may have on our ON-LINE SUPPORT BOARD.
