Answer 5

The main reason my husband and I decided to homeschool our children can be summed up in Psalm 1:

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
Therefore the ungoldy shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

In their claim to not teach religion or God in the schools, the public schools have become a religion of godlessness. Godly men and women founded and built this country in order that they could freely worship God. I was reading in the Education Journal that the subject that the children of our country score lowest on in standardized tests is history. Why? Because you can not teach the history of this country without teaching about God! So generations of children are being raised in this country who don't really know who they are, or where they are, why they are here or why America is America. Look at Russia and tell me that the teaching of atheism creates a successful society. Tell kids that they are just a bunch of monkeys, and they will start acting like a bunch of MONKEYS. Tell them that they are made in the image of God, and they will be the light of God on earth.

Our schools have not only abandoned God, they have abandoned the basics for a good education. (See "Why do you think homeschoolers are excelling so far ahead of public school children?") As far as violence in the schools; I don't think it is a coincidence that the schools have become increasingly violent since God and the Bible have been taken out. "Survival of the fittest" and the process of "natural selection" right? Didn't we all learn about that in high school biology? There have always been guns in this country, and it hasn't been until recently that the kids started bringing them to school and killing each other. The ungodly education system in this county is reaping what it has been sowing. The public school is no place I would want my children, and it is a shame, because it wasn't always this way. Even Harvard and Yale began as Bible colleges.
